Our Relationship With Gainesville

The law firm of Fine, Farkash & Parlapiano, P.A., takes great pride in supporting the charitable and community activities that make Gainesville and north Florida such a wonderful place to live. We regularly purchase television and radio air time for charitable agencies to use to gain public awareness for their causes. In addition to supporting organizations and events, attorneys practicing with the firm are, and over the years have been, involved in a number of charitable and community activities throughout Gainesville and the greater north Florida Area. Educational and environmental programs have been our particular focus. We have established or contributed to Endowed Scholarships at Santa Fe College, in memory of lost loved ones whose families we have represented. We have helped support spinal cord injury support research in honor of our courageous clients. We volunteer in public schools and teach Advanced Trial Skills at UF’s Levin College of Law. We are proud to support the following programs and organizations:

Scholarships at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College

Fine, Farkash & Parlapiano, P.A., has endowed two permanent scholarships intended to honor the victims in two tragic wrongful death cases. Our firm was able to secure compensation for the victims’ families and we created these scholarships as a way to keep these two young women’s memories alive in the community.

The Charisma O’Connor Memorial Scholarship honors a Williston High School senior who was on her way to the beach for a class outing when she was tragically killed by an inattentive driver.

The Christa Leigh Hoyt Memorial Scholarship honors a Santa Fe College student who was murdered by notorious serial killer Danny Rolling. Fine, Farkash & Parlapiano, P.A., was able to recover compensation for Hoyt’s family due to negligent security and a defective sliding door at her apartment where she was killed. Our firm also sued Rolling’s girlfriend to prohibit the publication of a loosely fictionalized account of the murders.

Basketball Cop Foundation

The Basketball Cop Foundation is an incredible organization that started locally with one officer’s everyday effort and grew into a national initiative. The foundation supplies sporting equipment to law enforcement agencies so they can distribute to kids in their communities and build trust.

Gainesville Cycling Community

Fine, Farkash & Parlapiano, P.A. proudly supports the Gainesville cycling community. We are cyclists ourselves, and we care about improving bicycle safety around town.
