Motorcycle accidents are common events. These incidents often and easily lead to serious injuries as motorcyclists have little protection against other vehicles and outside hazards. If individuals do suffer injuries due to being involved in such an accident, they may face considerable difficulties. As a result, they could potentially file a legal claim against the individual or individuals considered at fault.
One man in Florida may be exploring his options after a recent accident. Reports stated that the man was traveling north when a woman driving a van made a left turn from the southbound turn lane. The turn carried the van into the path of the man, and though he tried to stop before striking the van, he was unsuccessful and crashed into the side of the van.
The 40-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in the incident. He is expected to survive as the injuries were not considered life threatening at the time of the report. It was not mentioned whether the driver of the van was injured, but it was reported that she was cited for failing to yield.
Suffering serious injuries could lead to the motorcyclist facing physical and financial challenges, especially as he works to recover. These challenges could cause him considerable personal struggles, and as a result, he may wish to seek compensation for damages permitted under Florida law. Filing a personal injury claim could potentially help him work toward such restitution. Consulting with an experienced motorcycle accident attorney and gaining more information on this legal option may be worth his consideration.
