Possible Link Emerges Between Cold Case and Gainesville Ripper

A chilling new development has surfaced in the decades-old mystery of David Yeager’s disappearance. Yeager, a 17-year-old from Shreveport, Louisiana, vanished in 1971 without a trace. Over fifty years later, his family’s persistent search for answers has led them to explore a possible connection with Danny Rolling, aka the Gainesville Ripper.

Danny Rolling became infamous for the brutal murders of five college students in Gainesville, Florida in 1990. This case is locally known as the Gainesville Student Murders. However, Rolling’s dark past may also be linked to the disappearance of David Yeager. Rolling, originally from Shreveport, lived just a few blocks away from the area where Yeager was last seen. This unsettling connection has led Yeager’s family to question whether Rolling’s criminal behavior might have started much earlier than previously documented.

David’s cousin, Kelly Chance, and his younger brother, Steve, have tirelessly investigated this potential link. They have noted the fact that Rolling’s later admission to the 1989 murder of a family in Shreveport suggests a pattern of violence in his hometown. Given Rolling’s residence near Yeager’s path the day he disappeared, the family believes it is plausible that Rolling could have been involved in the teenager’s disappearance.

While Rolling did not confess to any crimes as far back as 1971, law enforcement officials in Shreveport have acknowledged the family’s concerns. The possibility remains that Rolling’s violent tendencies began during his teenage years, predating his known murders by almost two decades. This potential early onset of his criminal activities raises questions about his involvement in other unsolved cases from that era.

The potential link between David Yeager’s disappearance and Danny Rolling’s early years in Shreveport could bring new insights to both cases. For Yeager’s family, who have spent decades searching for closure, this connection offers a glimmer of hope in understanding what happened.
