Newberry, FL – Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on SR-45 near SW 46th Ave
Newberry, FL (April 3, 2025) – A 19-year-old Archer resident lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Newberry on Monday night, April 1. The two-vehicle collision occurred in Newberry at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene on State Road 45 just north of the intersection with Southwest 46th Avenue. According to reports, a 46-year-old man from Newberry was driving a white Ford pickup truck while attempting to turn left onto State Road 45. Simultaneously, the Archer man was on a motorcycle headed north on State Road 45. The motorcyclist attempted to pass vehicles lawfully when he was involved in a collision with the truck. Due to injuries he sustained in the crash, the motorcycle rider lost his life at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured.
Police in Newberry continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
